TRANSLATION COORDINATION NZ

Translation Coordination for Overseas Documents

Need a New Zealand document translated for overseas use? We can coordinate the administrative process with an appropriate independent translation provider and help manage related document steps where required.

Overseas document requirements can become complicated when translation is only one part of the process. Your documents may also require an apostille, authentication, notarisation or return delivery.

NZ Document Assist helps coordinate these practical stages so you have one point of contact for the administrative process we have agreed to manage.

Translation Coordination

From NZ$49

This is our administrative coordination fee. The independent translator's fee and any notary, apostille, authentication, courier or other third-party costs are additional where applicable.

What Does Translation Coordination Include?

Our role is to help organise the administrative side of the translation process rather than perform or certify the translation ourselves.

  • help organise your documents for translation
  • coordinate with an appropriate independent translation provider
  • manage the practical handover of documents where agreed
  • help coordinate translation alongside apostille or authentication steps where required
  • coordinate an independent New Zealand Notary Public where a notarial step is required
  • help arrange document return or courier handling
  • provide updates on the administrative stages we are coordinating

When Might a Document Need Translation?

A receiving organisation overseas may ask for a translation when a document is not in the language it accepts.

This can arise with documents connected with matters such as:

  • birth, marriage and death records
  • education and qualification documents
  • police or criminal record documents
  • powers of attorney and other personal documents
  • business or company documents
  • overseas property or inheritance matters
  • documents being supplied to foreign authorities or organisations
Important:

The organisation receiving your document determines what type of translation it will accept. Requirements can differ between countries, authorities and document types.

Translation With an Apostille or Authentication

Translation is sometimes only one stage of an overseas document process. Depending on the instructions you have received, a document may also require an apostille or authentication.

We can coordinate the practical workflow between these stages where appropriate, rather than leaving you to organise each administrative step separately.

What If a Notary Public Is Required?

Some document processes may require a notarial step. Where that applies, the notarial act is performed independently by a New Zealand Notary Public.

NZ Document Assist is not a Notary Public, but we can help coordinate a notary appointment and continue managing the surrounding administrative document process where agreed.

How Our Translation Coordination Process Works

1. Tell Us About Your Document

Tell us what document you have, the country where it will be used and any instructions you have received from the organisation requesting it.

2. We Organise the Administrative Workflow

We identify the practical translation steps we can coordinate and flag where an independent professional or authority may need to be involved.

3. We Coordinate the Translation

Where appropriate, we coordinate with an independent translation provider and manage the agreed administrative handover and communication.

4. We Coordinate Other Document Stages

If your instructions also involve notarisation, apostille, authentication or courier handling, we can coordinate those practical stages as part of the agreed service.

5. We Coordinate Return of Your Documents

Once the agreed process is complete, we can help coordinate the return or onward delivery of your documents.

Translation Coordination Across New Zealand

Our document assistance service is available nationwide. Many cases can be coordinated remotely by email, phone and courier.

Auckland clients can also ask about in-person administrative assistance by appointment where appropriate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you arrange the translator for me?

Where the matter fits our service, we can coordinate with an appropriate independent translation provider as part of the administrative process.

Can you coordinate translation and an apostille together?

Yes. Where your instructions require multiple stages, we can coordinate the administrative workflow involving translation and apostille or authentication services.

How much does translation coordination cost?

Our translation coordination service starts from NZ$49. The independent translator's fee and any other professional, government or courier charges are additional where applicable.
